BLOG MATRIX / VIJAYAWADA

SEO for Vijayawada businesses.
Mostly about pages that are not the homepage.

Four things that cost businesses enquiries without anyone noticing, and a straight answer on whether an agency is the right way to fix them. None of it is advanced and most of it is free.

Discuss your Vijayawada business

Your homepage is probably not your most important page

Almost all the attention in a website project goes to the homepage, and it is rarely where customers arrive or decide. Someone searching for a specific service lands on the page about that service, reads it, and either enquires or leaves. The homepage they may never see at all.

This matters because effort follows attention. The homepage gets rewritten and redesigned while the service pages, which are doing the actual selling, keep the two thin paragraphs somebody wrote in a hurry years ago. A useful exercise is to look at which pages people actually enter your site through, then compare that with where the effort has gone. For most businesses the mismatch is stark. The homepage needs to be clear and quick; the pages answering a specific need are the ones worth writing properly.

Your contact page may be losing enquiries

It is worth opening your own enquiry form on a phone and completing it as a customer would. A surprising number cannot be completed easily, and nobody notices because the owner never tries.

The usual faults: too many required fields, asking for a company name from someone who has none, a phone number that is not tappable, a dropdown of options that does not include what the visitor wants, no indication of when somebody will reply, and no confirmation that the message actually sent. Each one loses a proportion of people who were ready to contact you. Removing two fields will often do more for enquiries than a month of content, and it costs nothing. If most of your customers would rather call or message than type, make that obvious and put it first, rather than treating the form as the only route.

Nobody checks whether the site still works

Websites decay quietly. A page gets deleted and the links to it are left behind. A supplier changes their address and the link to them dies. A form stops delivering because an email account changed. A document is moved and a dozen pages still point at the old location.

None of this announces itself. The enquiry form failing silently is the expensive one, and it happens more than people believe. A short routine solves most of it: send yourself a test enquiry every month and confirm it arrives, run a link check a few times a year, and whenever a page is deleted, redirect it rather than leaving it to return an error. This is maintenance rather than strategy, which is why it gets skipped, and it is usually cheaper than whatever it is being skipped in favour of.

Agency, freelancer, or somebody internal

Worth thinking through properly rather than defaulting. An agency suits you when the work is varied and you want it handled without supervision, and it costs more partly because you are paying for that. A freelancer usually costs less and can be excellent, but capacity is one person and a busy period or an illness is your problem too. Hiring internally makes sense once search is central enough to justify a salary, and it puts the knowledge inside the business permanently, which no supplier arrangement does.

There is also the option of hiring nobody, which is right more often than anyone selling services will say. If your site needs a handful of things fixed and then maintaining, paying a monthly fee indefinitely is poor value. The question to settle first is whether you have ongoing work or a finite project. Businesses of this size usually have the second and get sold the first, which is the shape small business SEO normally takes.

If you want to work out which of those applies

We would look at your entry pages, your enquiry route and whether the basics still function, then tell you which of the four things above is costing you most. Frequently it is the contact page, which is not a project worth hiring an agency for.

What we are: a small search practice in Chandigarh, with no Vijayawada address and therefore no claim on the local map listings, no keyword research covering this market, and no paid or social services. If the answer turns out to be a finite piece of work rather than an arrangement, we will say so and scope it that way.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A few practical details.

Is our homepage our most important page?

Usually not. It receives the most attention internally and answers the fewest specific questions. Most enquiries begin on a page about one service or product, and that is where the effort belongs.

Could our contact page be losing enquiries?

Often, yes. A form that fails silently, a number that is not tappable on a phone, or hours that are wrong will all cost you enquiries that the analytics never records. It is worth testing on a real phone before anything else.

Should we hire an agency, a freelancer, or somebody internal?

It depends on how much work there is and who will own it. An agency suits a defined programme; a freelancer suits narrow, ongoing work; an internal hire pays off when there is enough to justify a full-time role. We will say honestly when we are not the right answer.
